CallyCo Guide To Measuring Up x

The CallyCo Story

After leaving London in 1998 with our eldest son Harry, my husband Martin and I settled down in Lincolnshire to be closer to our family. With another two children, Eloise and Charlie, and various pets to make up our family, living in the country was just wonderful.

Over the next 8 years, whilst the children were at school, I spent my time working on many different interior design projects. I loved visiting clients, working with them and discovering their unique style. Creating beautiful interiors has always been so rewarding. However news came that I was suffering from a degenerative eye condition, as a result of which I was no longer able to drive. Had we still been living in London, this would not have presented too much of a problem, but not being able to drive where I live is incredibly hard. Rather than mope about I decided that if I was not able to go and see my clients then they would have to come and see me. Thus, CallyCo was born.

I opened the first CallyCo shop in Stamford, Lincolnshire a little over three years ago. I wanted to sell furnishings and dress fabrics on the roll that were fresh, eye catching and most importantly good value. Stocking the shop with many haberdashery items and quirky home accessories was fun. Stamford is such a beautiful market town and was an ideal location.

After a year of trading I decided to open another shop and where better than the historic City of Cambridge. I was lucky enough to find a fantastic location, just around the corner from King's College and opposite Jamie Oliver's.

Seven months later I took the plunge and opened our third shop on the Bail in Lincoln, another stunning location in close proximity to the Cathedral.

CallyCo has been so warmly welcomed in each of these locations and I have been thrilled with the complimentary response both from customers and the local community.

All three shops are staffed by such an amazingly dedicated team and I feel very lucky to have found them. They are always willing to help out with any enquiry however large or small. When I announced the start of our sewing courses in Cambridge their enthusiasm was evident in their eagerness to help get these up and running.

So, that now leaves the Website. I know that many people have been looking forward to seeing the CallyCo website and I hope that this doesn't disappoint! It has been the culmination of hard work, tears of frustration and many cups of coffee!

My loyal clients in the hospitality and corporate world continue to involve me in their refurbishment projects and my love of interior design continues to flourish.

For all my existing clientele and for all the new ones I hope that you find what you wish for….

Thank you for taking the time to shop with us.

Love
Cally
