Understanding the different Course Levels
| Beginners |
For total beginners with little or no sewing machine experience. You will be shown the basic techniques of how to thread and use a sewing machine.

| Intermediate |
For those sewers who have already attended a Beginners course or who have a little more experience.
|
| Experienced |
For the more advanced sewer, already comfortable with zips and buttonholes and who want to put those skills to good use.

Saturday 19th May Patchwork Cushion OR Tote Bag 10am-1pm Post Beginners and Intermediates - 2pm-5pm Applique Aprons for Post-Beginners
Choose from our selection of beautiful fabrics and take home a lovely fabric patchwork cushion or tote bag.
In the afternoon we will be teaching you how to make an appliqued apron using techniques such as seaming, hemming and satin-edged applique. All materials included.
Saturday 26th May - Learn to Sew and make Bunting 10am-1pm Beginners - Make a Cushion with Applique 2pm-5pm Post-Beginners
The morning session aimed at complete beginners will teach you the basics of how to fully thead a sewing machine, sewing terminology and tips and stitch seams. Take away some bunting for your Jubilee celebrations. In the afternoon we will be exercising our designing skills to devise an applique pattern for a medium cushion. As well as showing off your design skills you'll be able to revisit your seaming skills and for the speedy, try a little machine embroidery. Suitable for post- beginners. All materials included.
Friday 1st June 10am-5pm - Simple Shift Dress suitable for Post-Beginners and Intermediates
This classic dress is a perfect project for first time dress makers, a simple flattering shape which can be styled in many different ways. Choose from our fabulous range of summer dress fabrics to create a unique summer dress in your size. You will learn how to cut and follow a commercial dress pattern, sew darts, finish seams, sew a facing, use bias binding and much more. You will be going home with a finished dress in your size, as well as a dress pattern and the skills to make many more!

Saturday 30th June Techniques Part One (am) Techniques Part Two (pm)
We offer two half day sessions devoted to the exploration of different techniques from basic seaming to decorative finishes. We will be making samples to help you develop your portfolio of skills and the courses will build into a fabric handbook of samples to use as your personal reference tool. Part One is suitable for beginners and will cover seaming, piping, simple fastening, top stitching and applique. Part Two, suitable for post-beginners and intermediates, will include more complex and decorative seam techniques, buttonholing, placing a zip and learning to write with your sewing machine.

Friday 13th July - Reversible Tote Bag 2pm-5pm Beginners
Chose from our selection of beautiful fabrics, learn how to use a sewing machine and take home a lovely reversible tote bag. This workshop, suitable for absolute beginners, will teach you basic sewing terminology, how to thread a machine, wind a bobbin, stitch seams, add shape by darting and seaming and in addition we will give you lots of useful tops. As well as your finished tote bag you will take away the skills and instructions to make more tote bags at home. All materials included.
